So today I decided that it was time to finally give both Outlook and Exchange a rest. I grouped my email messages in Outlook by date, held the shift key and pressed delete. I could hear my processor and drive crunching as Outlook was trying to delete 465,000-plus messages from as far back as 2005. Now let me tell you this, there have been many times where I needed to use the built-in (and brutally slow) search feature within Outlook to find specific emails. I am sure you have done this yourself on many occasions.
So given my dependence on email and the treasure trove of information and intelligence stored in it, why would I want to delete this business life line?
Ever since the launch of MXsense email archiving, I have become less fixated on managing my inbox within Outlook. With MXsense, I have the ability to instantly perform split-second key word searches within emails, and it has made my life much easier.
To date our organization has more than 4million emails stored in the MXsense archive and I can search through and find each one of them faster than Outlook. The litigious, SUE-CITY that we live in today has also dictated the fact that we should keep our email communications for some time in the event that a certain email comes to question.
Without MXsense, deleting nearly a half a million email messages from my inbox would not be an option. Ever!.Yeah I am sure I could have done some housekeeping, I could have sat there and broke them down into 2 gigabyte PST files to export (yet another thing to manage). I could have probably gone through them and tried to figure out what was important and what was not, but in reality I simply don’t have the time to waste on email management, hence the reason why I use MXsense.
If you want to check it out, MXsense offers the first 10GB for free (no obligations and no strings attached). If your organization is running Microsoft Exchange, learn more about this MXsense offer here.
